by having it on your computer screen,
being able to turn it about and actually
seeing through the skin..."

This site is about human anatomy, or rather
the visualization of human anatomy -
the human body in images, inside and out.

We have painstakingly created virtual 3d geometries
from ct scan data and by studying loads of expensive books
and atlases, and we are in the final stages
of achieveing complete perfection of these geometries -
the goal being to have the computer-usable data
of the "perfect human" 3d replica.

This site is about anatomy images/bitmap pictures
rendered from this data set, which you can purchase
and use for web and print (about pricing, see the purchase page)-
the educational use is free but you have to use
images that bear our logo or create a website link.

The commercial or private (web) use of the antomy images is inexpensive,
you pay around € 10 for an image lest you want a very special one -
a custom image to your own specifications, which may
take us many hours to create - but this still costs less than
€ 100, less than what you pay for "stock" images at other sites.

How to go about purchasing a stock image ? It is simple,
you first contact our support and state which image of what series
(they all have order numbers) you want, and in what size.
Once you get feedback (this to ensure that no spam filter
kills our communication) you can expect us to be prepared
for your purchase (order page, where you pick a single picture
, from ANY series, one price for all, or a complete series
of 6-12 images, decide on the size, and proceed).

Upon receiving your transaction
from our Secure Payment Processor,
we immediately send your image(s), or, if they are very bulky,
send you a URL from where you can download them -
now it is for you to decide what to do with them.

You may have purchased at the "logo rebate", in that case the images
will bear a small logo with our web site URL, this may not
be removed (only discounted pictures have such a logo),
but not to worry - it is a discreet logo.
If you also agree to place a link to our site,
we will give you another 20 % off.

You as customer (private or commercial) may use an image
an unlimited number of times AT THREE of your
or your company´s websites (more than three : please talk to us).
Commercial use (commercial sites) is no problem but the images
may in no case be passed to third parties or resold.
Use in ads (also e-mail ads) costs a bit more, please also talk
to us in this case. The price increase will be just 50 %
but we will have to register the campaign internally
to avoid misunderstandings with our partner companies -
Thus, we would like to provide you with a special deal
for such cases.
Actually, what you read above is also, in brief,
already your license for web use.

About picture quality : we deliver the formats .jpg and .tif -
300 dpi, web default 1280x1024, diverse use default around
4600 x 3000 or more (this depends on the form of the objects)
.jpg can be easily used on the web, but it has a fixed
background color (in this case either black or white)
which makes it hard to adapt to some other background color.
The .tif format however has several layers, one of which
is an "alpha channel" - this is like a mask, it enables you
to pick out the actual image from the background and paste
it into a new one - of course you need some image processing
software to do it.

Now most of these programs will only
be able to handle .tif images with 8 bit per color channel
(R,G,B 3x8 - that´s what "24 bit" usually means) -
way enough for 90% of uses but we can if needed,
also deliver 32 bits per channel - however such pictures
are extremely clumsy and you need special programs
to handle them.
